Cannabis seed (known as hemp) is a plant food with the highest protein value (up to 34%) and essential fatty acids combined. It is considered the most complete food that can be found in a single plant. The essential fatty acids of Omega-3 and Omega-9 it contains are very useful for the prevention of arthritis and rheumatism, amongst a whole host of other afflictions. The type of protein it provides supports the immunological function in the production of gammaglobuline. The complete cannabis seed retains the husk to protect the interior from oxidation. It is also very high in fibre.
Can be added to cereals, yoghourts and salads. Prior to eating, the seeds must be activated by soaking them in water for 6 hours or overnight. Then they should be rinsed before eating or blending. The recommended amount of hemp seeds is one large spoonful per day. Store in a dry place away from sunlight.

No other plant provides such an easily digestible form of plant protein, or provides such a perfect proportion of oils essential to human health and vitality. Hemp seeds have the highest content of essential fatty acids of any plant. Hemp oil is amongst those that have the least amount of saturated fats, making up a total of 8% of the oil as a whole. Cold pressed hemp oil contains 55% linoleic acid (LA) and 25% alpha-linoleic acid (ALA). Only linseed fibre contains more linoleic acid (58%), but hemp oil has a greater quantity of essential fatty acids (EFA), making up 80% of the oil as a whole.
