The trend in soft drink consumption has changed so much that, today, traditional Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola are practically no longer sold; consumers have opted for sugar-free soft drinks.
For several months now, there has been a major struggle among the major soft drink companies to find a cola drink with a natural sweetener that can maintain the characteristic flavour, but they are not succeeding; so much so that Coca-Cola is offering a million dollars to scientists who discover the sought-after natural sweetener.
For the time being, consumers of products such as Green Cola should keep their eyes open, since the companies that make these drinks use the name Stevia as a claim, since its content is negligible; and they choose to sweeten the drinks with significant amounts of sucralose, a chemical sweetener as dangerous as saccharin or aspartame.
