About 5 years ago, some of my gums began to recede, leaving the 'bone' exposed and causing me a lot of sensitivity. After asking the dentist on several occasions, he told me that it was a consequence of bruxism and that it was an irreversible phenomenon.
A month ago, following various advice from certain websiteI changed the normal supermarket toothpaste for one made by me. The curious thing about this is that without looking for it I saw that one of the gums returned to its natural state, the rest are slowly returning to their place. After 2/3 weeks my teeth feel softer and my gums are super healthy and white.
Preparation of toothpaste:
I take a clean glass jar, one of the traditional “Ponds” ones. I add about four pinches of sea salt and the same amount of baking soda as salt, approximately. I add a little water so that it dissolves. Once it becomes liquid, I start adding the white clay, little by little, and this gives it consistency. Once everything is well mixed, it is time for the oils. I usually add about 3/4 drops of mint (oil for consumption bought in health food stores) and another 3/4 drops of tea tree oil. With this I have enough for about two weeks. Sometimes I go a little overboard with the salt and the paste becomes very strong, so I try to pay attention to the amount of salt and not put too much because otherwise it is not pleasant. These proportions are totally variable but you have to be careful not to add too many drops of essential oils.
Also, the nights I sleep with a veneer, due to bruxism, I add two drops of tea tree before putting it in my mouth.
I must also say that for the last 3 months my diet has become more, let's say, clean. In the mornings I have a super nutritious cereal cream made of oats, quinoa, amaranth, millet, flax and then, depending on the day, I add sunflower seeds, hazelnuts or some other crushed nuts. To make this cream it is necessary to cook it for 20 minutes in a pressure cooker, so that the cereal is easy for the body to assimilate. I prepare a tank of this mixture once a week, which is kept in perfect condition in the fridge, and then every day I take a little, mix it with soy milk and let it heat up little by little until it reaches a good temperature, and it's ready for breakfast. I am always very cold and it makes me warm up super fast.
I mentioned the cereal cream because during this period of improvement of my gums I have basically made these three changes and I suppose that one of them could have been involved, or even all three.
I am now using my toothpaste and I am not switching to regular toothpaste anymore. My sister is starting to use it too and says the same thing, healthier gums (whiter) and very soft teeth. It is still too early to say anything about cavities.
I think we should be more demanding with what we are sold and if we think it is not correct, look for alternatives.
