My problem started in the winter of 2007. When I took off my socks at night I felt an itch between the index and middle toes of my right foot. As summer approached, the itching became more persistent. That same summer I went to the doctor for the first time. He prescribed Canespie cream to apply twice a day after washing and drying my feet and a powder to apply to my shoes. At first the itching subsided.

That fall and winter the itching returned, and without going to the doctor I continued with the treatment. This time there was no improvement. When summer came the problem got worse, as I started to itch between the toes of my entire foot, and by August 2008 the skin was breaking open and bleeding. At the same time, small white blisters appeared on the palms of my hands that also caused itching. I went back to the doctor and he told me that what I had was dehidrosis, a skin disease of unknown origin that was supposed to be related to stress.

This time I was prescribed a corticosteroid cream and at the same time I was referred to a dermatologist. The wounds disappeared and so did the itching in my hands. The itching in my feet was not as severe. When I went to the dermatologist he confirmed the diagnosis and told me that it was totally random, that I would have better times and worse times, advising me to use the corticosteroid cream. I spent the next year very upset. The summer of 2009 and the summer of 2010 were torture with my foot constantly covered in wounds.

In June 2010, I noticed that my toenails had turned dark, and especially my thumb and little finger nails on both feet were very dark, thick and partly deformed. I bought a product from Dr. School at the pharmacy, which I applied with a brush to my nails after filing the top part. As if by magic, the itching disappeared. It lasted a week.

I went back to the doctor and told him I suspected it had to be fungus. He referred me to antifungal creams once again, and also let me know that oral treatments for fungus were really damaging to internal organs and he strongly advised against them.
Time went by, and my foot was still a mess. In February of this year, one day I started to itch between the ring and middle toes of my left foot. Just like on the other foot, the skin began to crack and itch very intensely.

That's how I started surfing the internet until I found Josep Pàmies's page where he recommended using vinegar. I started the vinegar treatment in April and soaked my feet in vinegar for 15 days straight. The first thing I noticed was how a white, gelatinous substance was coming off the foot along with dead skin. I think the whole area of ​​the toes of both feet was renewed with new skin during those 15 days. Now, once a month, coinciding with nail cutting, I soak my feet in vinegar for 3 days. The itching has not returned and I notice my nails are getting lighter and less deformed. The darkest part is on the top of the nail. I have also followed the advice not to cut too much, especially in the corners, cutting straight.

My husband is also undergoing treatment. His nails were a real disaster. They are still ugly, although they seem to be clearing up little by little. For me the most important thing is that I have not felt any itching for more than 5 months, a real relief.

I met with my dermatologist who, when I told him about the treatment, said: "An acid... makes sense." I also visited my family doctor and he thanked me for the advice and told me that he was going to apply it to his son.
